Samsung Galaxy S26 Debuts Expanded Real-time Audio Eraser

The Samsung Galaxy S26 series introduces an expanded 'Audio Eraser' feature, moving beyond its previous application in video recording on Google Pixel and older Galaxy devices.

Starting with the Galaxy S26 and One UI 8.5, this functionality is now available for real-time processing of audio from various streaming applications on the smartphone.

User Control and Compatibility

Users can enable or disable Audio Eraser during playback in supported apps, adjust the strength of the effect, and activate a 'Voice Focus' toggle.

Samsung states that the feature is compatible with applications such as YouTube, Instagram, Netflix, and TikTok.

Real-time Performance Noted

During demonstrations, the Audio Eraser effectively isolated commentator audio in a YouTube hockey video by diminishing crowd noise, operating in real-time on the device.

While the feature performs effectively, the processed audio may exhibit minor artifacts.

Availability

The Galaxy S26 series is available for pre-order. Availability on store shelves is set to begin March 11.
