Shenae Ciesiolka has been granted an immediate release from her contract with the Brisbane Broncos NRLW team, with two years remaining on her existing deal. The club announced the 28-year-old's departure on Wednesday.
Club Statement
The Broncos released a statement acknowledging Ciesiolka's contribution.
"We thank Shenae for her contribution to the club and wish her the best in the next chapter."
Player Career
Ciesiolka played 39 games for the Broncos, securing premierships in both 2020 and 2025. Her distinguished career also saw her represent Queensland in 11 State of Origin matches and play three Tests for Australia.
Prior to her release, Ciesiolka had expressed a desire to continue developing her game.
"get out of [her] comfort zone a bit more, try new things, learn different positions or whatever that may be."
She was a starting player for most of her Broncos career but notably came off the bench in the 2025 grand final against the Roosters.
Roster Speculation
Following Ciesiolka's release, speculation has emerged that the Broncos may seek to sign Indie Bostock, who was recently released by the Dragons.
Bostock, a 19-year-old, is reportedly considering a move to Queensland to be closer to her brother Jack and boyfriend Tevita Naufahu, both of whom play for the Dolphins in the NRL.
