Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Announces 17 Nominees for Class of 2026
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has revealed its list of nominees for the upcoming Class of 2026. This year's list includes a larger number of names compared to recent years, which typically featured 14 or 15 artists.
The Nominees
The 17 artists and groups nominated for induction are:

Eligibility and First-Time Nominees
Artists become eligible for nomination 25 years after their first commercial recording. Several nominees are receiving their first nod this year:
- P!NK's debut album, 'Can’t Take Me Home', was released in 2000.
- Lauryn Hill's solo debut, 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill', was released in 1998.
- Jeff Buckley's album 'Grace' was released in 1994.
- Wu-Tang Clan's debut, 'Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)', was released in 1993.
- Shakira's debut, 'Magia', was released in 1991.
- Melissa Etheridge's self-titled debut was released in 1988.
- New Edition's debut, 'Candy Girl', was released in 1983.
- Luther Vandross's debut, 'Never Too Much', was released in 1981.
- INXS's self-titled debut was released in 1980.
Phil Collins is a first-time solo nominee but is already inducted as a member of Genesis. If inducted, he would become the 29th artist to be inducted multiple times. His solo debut, 'Face Value', was released in 1981.
Previous Nominations
Several artists on the list have been nominated in prior years:
- Third-time nominees: Mariah Carey (2024, 2025), Iron Maiden (2021, 2023), Joy Division/New Order (2023, 2025), and Oasis (2024, 2025).
- Second-time nominees: The Black Crowes (2025), Billy Idol (2025), and Sade (2024).
Commercial Success
The nominees include some of music's most commercially successful artists:
- Mariah Carey ranks fifth on Billboard’s Greatest of All Time Hot 100 Artists list with 19 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s.
- Phil Collins ranks 27th on the same list with seven Hot 100 No. 1s as a solo artist (and one with Genesis).
- P!NK ranks 51st on Billboard’s Greatest of All Time Hot 100 Artists list with four Hot 100 No. 1s.
The Induction Process
The 2026 inductees will be determined by votes from an international panel of over 1,200 artists, historians, and music industry professionals.
The final Class of 2026 will be announced in April, with the induction ceremony scheduled to take place in the fall.
