General Manager's Statement

Raiders General Manager John Spytek stated that he anticipates edge rusher Maxx Crosby remaining with the club in 2026. During a press conference at the scouting combine, Spytek conveyed reluctance regarding any suggestion that the Raiders would be willing to part with Crosby.

Spytek emphasized that Crosby is an elite player and that the team aims to retain strong players.

"Maxx is an elite player and I've been very up front from the start when I got here that we're in the business of having really good players on the team and we need a lot more of them," Spytek said. "It's hard to build a great team without elite players."

Player Communication and Reports

Reports had emerged during Super Bowl LX week suggesting Crosby intended to leave the Raiders and sought a trade. New head coach Klint Kubiak previously mentioned speaking with Crosby at the facility.

Spytek also confirmed regular communication with Crosby, stating, "Maxx and I have a great relationship. He's in the building every day getting healthy right now. We talk on the phone, we text."

Based on their conversations, Spytek confirmed his comfort with Crosby's current feelings as the new league year approaches.

Player Performance and Contract

In 2025, Crosby recorded 10.0 sacks and a career-high 28 tackles for loss over 15 games. He wanted to continue playing but was sidelined due to a knee injury that necessitated surgery at the end of the year.

The Raiders signed Crosby to a three-year extension valued at $106.5 million in March of the previous year.
