State of the Union: Guests Revealed and Absences Noted

President Trump's State of the Union address is set to feature a diverse array of guests, handpicked by both the White House and individual lawmakers. While the complete guest list from the President has not yet been publicly disclosed, several key attendees have already been identified.

President Trump's State of the Union address will feature various guests selected by the White House and lawmakers.

President Trump's Guests

President Trump's invitees include a Virginia teenager embroiled in a legal case concerning parental rights and schooling. Also expected are the U.S. men's hockey team, and Erika Kirk, widow of activist Charlie Kirk.

First Lady Melania Trump has also extended invitations to individuals who support her initiatives on AI education and foster care.

Other Lawmakers' Guests

Beyond the White House's selections, other legislators are bringing their own guests to the address. Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson has invited the daughter of a Uyghur doctor who was reported missing in 2018. Additionally, several Democratic lawmakers are bringing survivors of alleged sexual abuse.

Attendees Not Participating

Not everyone invited or eligible to attend will be present. At least five Democratic senators and 14 members of the House plan to skip the address, citing their opposition to the President's agenda. These lawmakers instead intend to attend an alternative event organized by MoveOn.org.

The U.S. women's Olympic hockey team reportedly declined an invitation from President Trump, citing scheduling conflicts.
