Mountain West Conference Unveils Updated 2026 Football Matchups

The Mountain West Conference has released its updated 2026 football matchups. This revised schedule follows the recent addition of North Dakota State, Northern Illinois University (NIU), and UTEP to the conference.

The 2026 season will see an expanded Mountain West Conference, featuring new additions North Dakota State, NIU, and UTEP.

An Expanded Field for 2026

For the 2026 season, the league will feature 10 programs competing in 40 Conference games across four time zones. The conference members for 2026 include Air Force, Hawai‘i, Nevada, New Mexico, San José State, UNLV, and Wyoming, alongside the newly added North Dakota State, NIU, and UTEP.

Season Format and Championship Stakes

Each team is scheduled to play four home and four away Conference games over a 13-week period.

The season will culminate in the Mountain West Football Championship Game, which will feature the two teams with the highest Conference win percentages. A potential College Football Playoff berth will be available to the champion.
