Tom Morello Joins Bruce Springsteen's "Land of Hope & Dreams American Tour"
Tom Morello, guitarist for Rage Against the Machine, will join Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band on their upcoming “Land of Hope & Dreams American Tour.” Morello is scheduled to participate in every tour date, performing during several songs each night. His participation will result in the postponement of dates for his own solo tour, which was previously announced for May.
A History of Collaboration
Morello has collaborated with The E Street Band previously, touring as a guest member from 2012 to 2015. He also contributed to Springsteen's albums Wrecking Ball and High Hopes, and Springsteen appeared on Morello’s solo album The Atlas Underground Fire. Most recently, they performed together last month at the “Defend Minnesota: A Concert of Solidarity and Resistance.”
Political Themes at the Forefront
Springsteen has characterized the “Land of Hope & Dreams Tour” as addressing political themes. The initial leg of the tour, which commenced in Europe in 2025, included politically charged material such as “Murder Incorporated,” “Youngstown,” and a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Chimes of Freedom,” alongside commentary regarding American democracy.
Morello on Activism and the Tour
Morello stated that the collaboration with Springsteen for the “Defend Minnesota” concert highlighted the importance of their platform for activism.
“Together, Bruce, the E Street Band, and I are going to turn a spotlight on the current threats to democracy and human rights happening all around us on the ‘Land of Hope & Dreams American Tour’ in the spirit of freedom, justice and rock n roll. I have a deep love and respect for all my friends, fans & comrades, and I’m sorry that I must reschedule some of my May solo shows. I promise that we will find a way to be together for these shows, in these towns, very soon.”
Following the announcement of the tour's US leg, most of the 20 scheduled dates have reportedly sold out.
