Samsung has officially launched the One UI 8.5 beta program for its Galaxy S24 series, expanding an initiative that began earlier for other devices. This program, built on Android 16 QPR2, allows users in select regions to test new features and improvements before a wider stable release.
One UI 8.5 Beta Arrives for Galaxy S24 Series
The One UI 8.5 beta program is now officially accessible for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra devices.
The initial beta version for the Galaxy S24 series has an approximate download size of 4,109.04MB. It is identified by the firmware version S92xBXXU5ZZCD. The beta program is presently available to users in India, Korea, and the United Kingdom, with Samsung anticipating extending availability to additional regions in the near future.
Prior Beta Program Expansions
The One UI 8.5 beta program, which incorporates Android 16 QPR2, initially commenced for the Galaxy S25 series in December. Subsequently, the program was made available for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 models. Evidence suggesting the expansion to the Galaxy S24 series, in the form of a beta firmware, had been identified on Samsung's server prior to the official launch.
How to Participate and Install
Users interested in participating in the beta program can register their devices through the Samsung Members application. This is done by selecting the One UI 8.5 beta program banner. Following successful registration, the update can be downloaded and installed by navigating to the device's settings via Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Stable Version Rollout Underway
Samsung has already launched the stable version of One UI 8.5 concurrently with the release of the Galaxy S26 series. A stable build of One UI 8.5 has also been observed for the Galaxy S25 series, indicating a broader rollout for some devices.
