Record Crowd Cheers Supercars 2026 Season Opener at Sydney Motorsport Park

The 2026 Repco Supercars Championship season-opener at Sydney Motorsport Park has concluded, reporting a significant three-day attendance. A total of 52,419 spectators flocked to the event over the weekend.

Supercars officials confirmed that this total constitutes a record for the Eastern Creek venue since 1995.

The reported crowd represents a substantial year-on-year increase. Attendance saw a 14 percent rise compared to the 2025 event. Free entry on Friday was specifically noted as a contributing factor to the higher attendance figures.

Supercars CEO James Warburton expressed immense pride in the turnout for the championship's opening round. "To see a record crowd at Sydney Motorsport Park for the opening round of the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship is something we're incredibly proud of," Warburton stated. He also extended his appreciation to the fans, acknowledging their resilience. "They braved scorching temperatures throughout the weekend, and they have been treated to tremendous racing and entertainment in return," he added.
