Mortal Kombat Takes Center Stage: Olympic Gala Performance and Film Update

Georgian skaters Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulava presented a Mortal Kombat-themed performance during the Olympics Exhibition Gala.

This event operates distinct from competitive judging, as it does not involve judging by a panel of experts, but rather by audience reception.

The routine commenced with the skaters revealing their Mortal Kombat-themed costumes. Berulava was dressed as Sub-Zero, and Metelkina as Kitana. They performed to the 'Techno Syndrome' theme, incorporating simulated punches, signature character moves, and actions depicting dazed fighters.

'Mortal Kombat 2' Film Adjusts Release Date

Separately, the upcoming film 'Mortal Kombat 2,' based on the video game series, has adjusted its release date.

It will now be released on May 8, which is one week earlier than a previously announced date, though several months later than its initial October 2025 target. The film's writer is Jeremy Slater. Karl Urban is cast as Johnny Cage.
