Tragedy Strikes Huon Valley: Two Teenagers Die in Crabtree Road Crash
A devastating single-vehicle crash on Crabtree Road in Tasmania's Huon Valley on Friday evening has claimed the lives of two male teenagers. Three other occupants were injured in the incident involving a silver Mazda sedan carrying five individuals.
Two male teenagers have died and three other occupants were injured following a single-vehicle crash on Crabtree Road in Tasmania's Huon Valley.
Incident Details
The collision occurred at approximately 8:50 PM on Friday, near 383 Crabtree Road, located in the Crabtree area of the Huon Valley. A silver Mazda sedan, traveling west with five occupants, lost control and collided with a power pole.
Casualties and Injuries
A 17-year-old male passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. Another passenger, a 15-year-old male, tragically died overnight in the hospital.
The three other occupants – the 23-year-old male driver and two other 15-year-old male youths – sustained injuries and were transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital for treatment.
Investigation Underway
Tasmania Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash. Speed is currently believed to have been a contributing factor in the collision, which occurred on Crabtree Road, a thoroughfare known to contain both sealed and unsealed sections.
Reports concerning the incident will be prepared for the coroner.
