ACT Policing Investigates Potential Hate Imagery at City Premises
ACT Policing has initiated an investigation following a complaint received earlier this week concerning potential hate imagery displayed at a licensed premises in the City.
Police Response and Scene Establishment
On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, officers attended the location and engaged with the owner. As part of their ongoing inquiry, police requested the removal of the posters. The owner declined this request, which led to the establishment of a crime scene.
Five posters were subsequently seized by authorities.
Legal Evaluation Under New Legislation
These seized items will be evaluated in relation to recently enacted Commonwealth legislation pertaining to hate symbols.
Investigations regarding the posters are ongoing, and legal advice is being sought concerning their legality.
