One UI 8.5 Introduces Advanced Audio Capabilities for Galaxy Smartphones

Samsung released One UI 8.5 for Galaxy smartphones in December 2025. The software is currently undergoing beta testing on the Galaxy S25 series. With each new beta version, Samsung has introduced additional features, including a new "High Quality Audio Input".

High Quality Audio Input: Enhancing Mobile Recording

This "High Quality Audio Input" feature enables the use of external wireless (Bluetooth) microphones for audio and video recordings.

The "High Quality Audio Input" feature in One UI 8.5 ushers in advanced recording capabilities for Galaxy users.

It supports recording 24-bit audio with external microphones and allows for simultaneous recording using two external Bluetooth microphones, which can be useful for interviews.

Supported Microphones and Customization Options

Currently, the feature in One UI 8.5 supports four specific external Bluetooth microphones: DJI Mic Mini, DJI Mic Mini 2, DJI Mic 2, and MJI Mic 3.

Users can adjust various audio parameters, such as noise reduction and gain. Settings for this feature are accessible from the Now Bar and are integrated as part of the new Advanced Audio functionalities.
