NSW Police Establish Strike Force Halesowen to Investigate Linked Western Sydney Attacks
NSW Police have established Strike Force Halesowen to investigate a series of public place shootings and arson attacks across Western Sydney. These violent incidents are believed to be linked and are targeting a single family.
Police believe these three incidents are connected and are targeting one specific family.
Detective Acting Superintendent Brad Abdy stated that the strike force was formed following three separate events that occurred within days of each other. These incidents include:
- A drive-by attack in Greenacre, which resulted in former NRL player Matt Utai being hospitalized in critical condition.
- A shooting incident that took place in St Clare.
- A house fire in Guildford, which occurred shortly after the St Clare shooting.
Detective Acting Superintendent Abdy described the incidents as offenses that pose risks to the public. The formation of Strike Force Halesowen underscores the police commitment to addressing the escalating violence and apprehending those responsible.
