U.S. Capitol Incident: Georgia Man Arrested with Loaded Shotgun
An 18-year-old individual, identified as Carter Camacho from Georgia, approached the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday carrying a loaded shotgun.
Details of the Arrest
U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) officers instructed Camacho to drop the weapon at the West Front of the U.S. Capitol Building. He complied and was subsequently taken into custody by USCP officers.
Carter Camacho, 18, from Georgia, was arrested after approaching the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday with a loaded shotgun and complying with police orders to drop the weapon.
Items Recovered and Charges
Authorities reported that Camacho was wearing a tactical vest and had multiple rounds of ammunition. A helmet and gas mask were discovered in his white Mercedes SUV, which was parked in the 100 block of Maryland Avenue, Southwest.
Camacho was arrested for unlawful activities, carrying a rifle without a license, and possession of an unregistered firearm and ammunition. The motive for the incident was not immediately known.
