Trump Pressures Ukraine Ahead of Geneva Peace Talks
US President Donald Trump has urged Ukraine to reach a swift agreement with Russia ahead of US-brokered talks scheduled for Tuesday in Geneva. Speaking to reporters on Air Force One, President Trump stated, "Ukraine better come to the table, fast."
"Ukraine better come to the table, fast."
The President aims to resolve the conflict, which began with Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. However, two previous rounds of US-mediated discussions in Abu Dhabi did not result in a breakthrough.
During these talks, Moscow has maintained its demands for extensive territorial and political concessions from Ukraine. Kyiv has rejected these demands, characterizing them as a call for capitulation.
The US delegation for the Geneva talks will include Trump's top envoy, Steve Witkoff, and son-in-law Jared Kushner. Russia's team will be led by former Russian culture minister Vladimir Medinsky.
