Vigil Maintained Following Prisoner Release Announcement

A vigil has been maintained outside a police detention center since January 8.

This demonstration began following an announcement by Jorge Rodríguez, head of Venezuela's National Assembly. Rodríguez stated that "a significant number" of prisoners would be released.

He characterized this action as a goodwill gesture from the interim government, intended to demonstrate its commitment to "seek peace."
