Men's Big Air Qualifiers Conclude

The qualifying round for men's big air at the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics in Italy concluded on Sunday night. Freeskiers competed to secure a spot in the upcoming final.

Top Performers

Mac Forehand of the U.S. placed 1st with a total score of 183.00. His performance included a switch left triple cork 1980 (93.25) and a left nose-butter triple cork 1620 (89.75). He is scheduled to drop in last in Tuesday's final.

Austria's Matej Svancer secured the 2nd-best overall score with 182.25. Following him were Norwegians Birk Ruud and Tormod Frostad, placing 3rd (181.00) and 4th (180.25) respectively. Ruud, the defending big air champion and slopestyle gold medalist, did not perform his final run.

Luca Harrington of New Zealand, who won the Winter X Games last month, finished 5th with 179.75.

U.S. Team and Other Qualifiers

U.S. teammates Troy Podmilsak and Konnor Ralph also qualified, placing 10th (174.00) and 12th (171.75) respectively, making the 12-skier cut for the final.

French skiers Matias Roche and Timothe Sivignon placed 6th (178.50) and 7th (178.00). Sivignon has previously achieved World Cup podium finishes, securing 2nd place at Klagenfurt in 2025 and Copper in 2022.
