Smruti Pattanaik, from the Delhi-based Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, stated to the BBC that the existence of ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan is not the primary concern, as Bangladesh, as a sovereign country, has the right to such relations.
Pattanaik noted that the near absence of engagement during Hasina's leadership was unusual.
She further indicated that the dynamic, which had previously shifted significantly in one direction, now faces the risk of shifting too far in the opposite direction.
