Hello Hayley Triumphs in Southland Guineas

Trainer Sophie Price's three-year-old filly, Hello Hayley, secured victory in the Listed ILT Ascot Park Hotel Southland Guineas (1400m) at Ascot Park in Invercargill.

Ridden by Donovan Cooper, Hello Hayley started from the rear of the 14-runner field. Cooper maintained her position along the running rail, and she advanced through an opening in the home turn, winning by a length over Luna Capella.

Both Trainer Sophie Price and Jockey Donovan Cooper attributed Hello Hayley's improved performance, focus, and acceleration to the positive impact of blinkers.

Sophie Price, who trains from Winton, stated that Hello Hayley performed impressively, noting the positive impact of blinkers on her focus. Jockey Donovan Cooper also attributed the filly's improved performance and acceleration to the blinkers.

Hello Hayley, by Hello Youmzain out of Thorn Park mare Hayley Grace, is related to Group One winner Te Akau Shark. This win marks her second in six starts, with total prize money approaching $100,000.
