Tournament Update: Final Group and Player Highlights
Tournament Leaders: Final Group Set for Saturday
Jon Rahm, Ben Campbell, and Bryson DeChambeau will form the final group teeing off on Saturday. Rahm and DeChambeau are established major winners, bringing significant experience to the final pairing.
Ben Campbell expressed anticipation for the opportunity to compete against them, noting he had played with Rahm before but not DeChambeau.
Herbert Maintains Momentum in Adelaide
Lucas Herbert, who recovered from a challenging start last week in Riyadh to finish in the top 10 and contribute to Ripper GC's team victory, has maintained strong performance. In Adelaide, he continued his form, shooting a second-round 7-under 65. He will begin the weekend tied for 7th.
Herbert attributed his current form to lessons learned previously, emphasizing the importance of a good start and conserving energy. He stated he aimed to avoid over-practicing to ensure sufficient energy for Sunday.
Legion XIII's Unique Walk-Up Song Selections
The four members of Legion XIII do not choose their own walk-up songs for The Watering Hole, the par-3 12th hole. Instead, captain Jon Rahm and teammate Tyrrell Hatton take on the role of selectors for themselves and their teammates, Tom McKibbin and Caleb Surratt.
Players are not aware of the chosen song until they address their tee shots, creating an element of surprise for both the golfers and the audience.
On Friday, Rahm's selection for himself was "Always Be My Baby" by Mariah Carey, while Hatton's was "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne. For their teammates, McKibbin's song was "Freak Me" by Silk, and Surratt's was "Axel F" by Crazy Frog. Rahm indicated that songs for Surratt are often selected to be musically distinct from his preference for country music, for amusement.
