Multiplayer Offerings

The original Metal Gear Online launched with MGS4 in June 2008 and ceased operations in 2012. Konami has confirmed that MGS4's multiplayer will be absent from the Master Collection Vol. 2.

However, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, also part of the collection, will support online multiplayer. Peace Walker will feature several online and local multiplayer options:

  • Peace Walker Co-Ops: This mode will allow 2-4 players to complete missions together.
  • Peace Walker Versus Ops: This mode will support up to six players for competitive matches.
  • Local Wireless Play: Available for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions of Peace Walker.

Game Enhancements and Features

Various enhancements are planned for the included titles:

Release Information and Bonuses

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is scheduled for release on August 27, 2026. It will be available for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S.

Pre-order bonuses include the Cardboard Camouflage for MGS4 and the Love Box uniform for Peace Walker. Additionally, players with save data from Vol. 1 will receive the Gold Camouflage and Gold uniform.
