Karate Combat 59 took place at the Telemundo Center in Miami on Friday.
Main Event Showdown
In the main event, Valter Walker faced Zion Clark in an openweight grappling match. Walker, a UFC heavyweight contender, secured a victory via submission (rear-naked choke) in the first round. Clark was born without legs due to Caudal Regression Syndrome, a rare disorder that affects the development of the lower spine. Walker had previously won four consecutive UFC bouts.
In the main event, Valter Walker secured a first-round submission victory over Zion Clark.
Title Bout and Other Notable Fights
The event also featured a thrilling title bout and several other significant matchups. Elisandra Ferreira defeated Monika Chochlikova via unanimous decision to claim the Karate Combat strawweight title. In the light heavyweight division, Uriah Hall secured a TKO victory over Jayden Eynaud in their bout in the first round.
A scheduled lightweight fight between Shahzaib Rind and Diego Brandao, however, was canceled after Rind missed weight by five pounds.
